Nicholas Breeze Wood

Nick started his shamanic path informally in his teenage years by following his nose and creating ceremonies for himself because he felt a strong urge to do so, but he didn't know it was called 'shamanism' until he was in his 20's and read about it in a book.

In his late 20's, after training in psychotherapy for several years, he began working formally with medicine teachers and shamans, learning traditional ways of performing ceremonies and healing, and began to make a study of the ritual objects used in shamanism - something which has become a great passion for him over the years.

He is a skilled drum maker, having made shamanic frame drums since the late 1980's, and his beadwork and other sacred craftwork is used by shamanic practitioners all over the planet.

His love of sacred objects has, in more recent years, grown into him running 3Worlds - an online gallery specialising in the ritual objects used in Central Asian and Siberian shamanism and Buddhism. He is currently writing a book on this subject.

Nick is the author of two other books, 'Voices from the Earth' which explores the sacred 'medicine' craft traditions of the Native American people, and 'The Book of the Shaman.'

He is the editor of Sacred Hoop Magazine - the world's leading magazine about shamanism and animistic spirituality.

He is also a musician, with a great love of early medieval music and a dangerously large collection of stringed musical instruments.
